Thinking of Remodeling?

2005 Remodel Cost vs. Value Report

for the West Coast

When you run out of room you are often faced with making one of two choices. Will you remodel or buy a bigger house?

For many, remodeling isn't a great option as they are unwilling to live through the inconvenience and headaches of having their homes torn up for extended periods of time while trying to get the contractor to complete the project on time in the way you envisioned it.  Others worry about the cost of the remodel and whether it will pay back in the end.  For most of the country, this is a real concern as only a few types of remodels will allow you to recoup your investment down the road.  However in the bay area, most all investments in your home if done with a reputable contractor will pay back in the end. To find out how much, check out the 2004 statistics below.
